BRING IT IN HOUSE!

Dear Clients and Friends,

Lately we have experienced an increase in demand for three distinct catering ideas. The first is to have On The Move Catering & Events become your exclusive office catering solution. This results in a consistent offering at a pre determined price and eliminates the need to train multiple companies how to enter and exit your building and how you like your events to be set and served. It also provides the opportunity for us to enroll you in a "rebate" program, with monies or credit paid back to your organization quarterly.

The second is to have On The Move Catering & Events build an actual catering kiosk within your offices. This will ensure that you have on site offerings on a daily basis and via our on site staff a direct line of communication for larger internal and off site events. Construction costs are typically absorbed by our firm with signed multi-year contracts. This will save your staff time, keep them in the office instead of running out for coffee or lunch and in the end increase the earning potential of your staff.

The third idea is essentially to sign up for our new "Event in Minutes" program. This "retainer based" program ensures that you always have a representative of our firm on speed dial to attend to your event and catering needs. This offering makes obtaining quotes easier and more efficient and ensures that you will receive the best price possible as you are a client and not a customer.

Please contact don@otm.ca directly to find out more about these interesting and cost effective programs and how they can work for you. Interested parties will be invited to our flagship location for a "tour and tasting" so we can "try it before you buy it".

Have A Wonderful Day. Eat Well.

ARE YOU DOING WHAT YOU CAN?

Dear Clients and Friends,

Did you know that unwanted electronics are piling up in landfills? This doesn’t make sense because most of the parts – steel, glass, copper, aluminium, plastics and precious metals – can be recovered and reused to make new products. Also, lots of electronic equipment like computers, printers, and televisions can be reused cutting down on the amount of waste that is produced.

To decrease the amount of potentially hazardous material accumulating in our landfills, the Ontario Government has designated Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES), a non-profit industry organization to manage a program that encourages reuse, recycling and, if needed, proper disposal of unwanted electronic equipment. Visit www.dowhatyoucan.ca for further information.

As part of our commitment to reduce our environmental footprint On The Move Catering & Events is exploring any and all ways to eliminate waste and reduce, reuse and recycle.

This year we are introducing a line of “paper products” to use at your corporate events. With cutlery made from corn, take away containers and plates made of wheat straw fiber, these items will completely biodegrade in 90-180 days. As you might expect these items will come with extra costs but they will make you feel that you are in fact, doing what you can.

Please contact don@otm.ca to find out how we can order and deliver these products to you directly at wholesale costs, to store on site and use at your corporate luncheons.

Have A Wonderful Day. Eat Well.

WHERE'S THE BEEF?

Dear Clients and Friends,

Did You Know that Beef is the # 3 food source of iron behind fortified cereal and grains?

A 3-ounce serving of lean beef is an excellent source of Protein, Zinc, Phosphorous, Iron and B-Complex Vitamins. Protein helps build a strong and muscular body. Zinc helps create a healthy immune system and heal wounds. Phosphorous is necessary for strong teeth and bones. Iron helps carry oxygen in the blood to all cells and muscles to prevent fatigue. Nutrients that are found in beef contribute to optimal growth, cognitive function, red blood cell development and prevent iron deficiency during the adolescent years.

Beef not only provides an excellent amount of nutrients. There are 19 cuts of beef that are leaner than a skinless chicken thigh and meet the USDA Labeling Guidelines for lean cuts.

Here are some Lean Beef Tips

  1. Choose the leanest cuts by looking for LOIN or ROUND in the name.
  2. Buy ground beef that a 90 percent lean or higher.
  3. Trim away any visible outside fat before cooking.
  4. Use low-fat cooking methods such as broiling, roasting or grilling.
  5. Eat reasonable portion sizes. One 3-ounce serving of beef is the size of a deck of cards or a computer mouse.

And most importantly; call On The Move Catering & Events to book your private or corporate Barbecue in 2010. It may seem like early days, but soon enough you’ll be scrambling (and not eggs, which by the way we also serve a mean breakfast!) for a catering company, a location, a tent and entertainment.

Book a date with us now, allow us to prepare and present a quote for your review, and we’ll take 15% off you invoice. It will cost you nothing now. Visit here for menu ideas or call us directly so we may assist and contribute to your optimal growth, cognitive function, and red blood cell development.

THE CATERING STRATEGY

Planning events or catering in Toronto is about understanding your state of mind. Your needs combined with the expectations of your target audience will lead to the most appropriate presentation of your mission, mandate and value proposition.

The first step in our approach involves a personal consultation in order to determine the characteristics of your living brand: Who you are...what you stand for...what makes you different. Likewise, it is important to understand who your target audience is. Are they Customers? Investors? Employees? Friends? Family? Is your goal, through this event to: Entertain? Educate? Motivate? Persuade? Are your objectives to demonstrate leadership? Generate awareness? Increase support? Reward? Or, simply, to have fun?

Only by understanding the quality of your relationships, products and services, the root of your objectives and your personal and professional benchmark principles, can we determine a catering and event strategy that will work for you.

At On The Move—A Catering Company in Mississauga, we recognize that in order to represent your interests as if they were our own, we must invest some time into understanding what you do best, to ensure that we do our best, on your behalf. It is for this reason that we act as advisors, to you, our client, in order to determine and customize a solution that works for you. However, we all need a place to start. Enclosed you will find some sample menus to assist in planning your next event and taking the first steps to Excite Yourself™. In addition, we have provided our client list and our own biographies, to help you get to know us, as we get to know you. Enjoy.

Our offices and kitchen are located in Mississauga, but we provide our catering and event planning services all across Toronto and surrounding areas. Do not hesitate to call on us for anything from your boardroom lunch to your corporate holiday event.
